May Trip P4 - Grand Canyon

After the Flagstaff area/Overland Expo en route to Lone Rock, we stopped at the Grand Canyon. We didn't stay overnight, we just toured the South Rim tourist area.

We love the canyon and find it hard to go nearby without stopping. It was very crowded getting in and parking was packed. School was not even out yet; it was a zoo of people and cars.

We parked at the market and walked a ways to the rim. The market was one of the few places that had parking as it is not on the rim itself.

We hiked along the rim and a bit of ways down the Bright Angel Trail. We wanted to get to Lone Rock on Lake Powell before dark, so we didn't stay too long.

On the Bright Angel Trail.

After seeing this picture, a friend gave Greg the book "Over the Edge, Death in the Grand Canyon"

That IS truly a grand canyon!
